When you have an airfryer, you don’t need any frying oil. Maintaining an airfryer is therefore not too laborious. There are 3 components that you need to clean to keep your airfryer in top condition. In this article, we take you step by step through How to Clean Air Fryer. As a bonus, clean the outside of the airfryer as well.
The 3 parts you will need to clean: How to Clean Air Fryer?
1 | Clean the basket
Since you are using the basket to cook your snacks, there will be some leftover food in it. So submerge your basket for 10 minutes in a tub with hot water and a few drops of washing up liquid. Then scrub the basket from all sides with a soft sponge or soft brush. We do not recommend using a scouring sponge or aggressive degreaser. This is because you risk damaging the non-stick coating.

2 | Clean the tank
The bowl is located under the basket and collects the liquids and grease that are released during cooking. Clean it with a soft sponge, hot water and a little washing up liquid. Do not use a hard scouring sponge, so as not to damage the non-stick coating. After cleaning, dry the fryer with a kitchen towel.

3 | Clean the heating element
To prevent your airfryer from dispersing a burning smell, remove any splattered fat from the heating element. Remove the plug from the socket and turn the airfryer upside down. Open the airfryer drawer so that you can access the heating element. Wet a soft sponge with hot water and a drop of dish soap and wring it out. Clean the heating element. Use an old toothbrush to get to tough corners. Dry the heating element with a kitchen towel.

Clean the exterior
With a hot air fryer, you are not bothered by splashing grease on the housing since there is no grease in the appliance. It is therefore sufficient to rub the outside with a damp cloth, possibly with a little cleaning product. Do not use a scouring sponge to avoid scratches. Dry the outside with a kitchen towel to prevent stains.
Parts that can be put in the dishwasher
Is it too much work for you? So then clean the basket and the tub in the dishwasher. Note, however, that the nonstick coating on the pan will wear out faster and parts will become dull. You must, however, clean the heating element and the housing by hand, as they are not dishwasher safe.
Advice for an even fresher result
Your Airfryer does not smell very fresh after cleaning? So, coat the basket and the bowl with lemon juice. Thus, you will eliminate cooking odors. Cut a lemon in half. Use one half to scrub the basket, then use the other to coat the pan. Then set the components aside for half an hour, to let the lemon juice do its job. Finally, rinse the parts with lukewarm water and dry them with a kitchen towel.
