Owning your own waffle iron gives you the luxury of making delicious, fluffy waffles in your home without having to go to the store to get some or always go to a restaurant to taste them great waffles.

Having said all about this appliance, it’s essential to talk about one essential thing about your waffle iron, cleaning. To do this it is very essential to carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Unlike a toaster oven which is easy to clean, it can be a bit frustrating to clean up crevices in your Waffle Maker iron’s baking sheet. Here are the steps on how to clean your Waffle Maker.

The 4 Tips: How to Clean Waffle Maker

    Unplug the device

The first thing to do if you want to clean your waffle iron is to unplug it. It would be wrong to start cleaning immediately after making your waffle because the waffle iron will be very hot by then and could cause serious burns. So unplug it and wait for the device to cool down.

Use a dry paper towel to remove excess oil.

You won’t need to use oil if your waffle maker is a non-stick type. Doing this can lead to puddles of fat. If so, you can use a dry paper towel to dab them. When using the paper towel, it is better to fold it in one so that you can easily clean the ridges of the waffle iron.

Use a brush to remove large crumbs.

You’re always going to find dried dough stuck between the ridges or on the sides of the baking sheet, especially if you’ve filled the baking sheet to the brim. What you need to do at this point is use a soft kitchen brush and brush off those crumbs. Make sure the brush is soft enough not to scratch the nonstick surface.

Use a warm cloth to remove the hardened pieces.

If you have a lot of dried paste on the baking sheet, loosening and scraping it down bit by bit could be extremely annoying. Instead, take the soft dough first, soak a cloth or water in hot water, and then squeeze out some water but not completely.

Now place the cloth on the plate and close it for a few minutes. Moisture and heat will help remove those soaked crumbs easily.
